GHOSTS AND GARLIC
SEPTEMBER WALK TO KNIGHTON GORGES ON SEPTEMBER 4TH, NOW FULLY BOOKED. CHECK BACK SOON FOR MORE DATES.
It may have vanished almost two centuries ago, but the mysterious mansion of Knighton Gorges still casts an enduring spell. On Saturday 4th September, there's a unique opportunity to discover more about the old house and its ghosts, on another special summer ghostwalk.
We're starting from the IW Garlic Farm Cafe at Mersley, where a special supper with a welcome drink is included. Then join Marc Tuckey's Isle of Wight Ghost Experience for an evening stroll across the fields to Knighton Gorges and its famous gateposts, for spooky stories of the old house. Don't forget to bring a camera (AND TORCH) in case the supernatural stone creatures make an appearance, or you capture those elusive energy 'orbs' around the weathered stone gateposts.
Gay Baldwin, who has been writing the Isle of Wight ghost books for over 30 years, is researching a new book about Knighton Gorges, out at Christmas, and Marc will be telling some of these stories. Visit ghostisland.com for Knighton Gorges stories and photographs.
This should be a fascinating walk as a local medium will be accompanying us, to give her impressions of the ghosts which haunt the area. We will walk back via the walled gardens - if possible. We look forward to seeing you there... The cost of the walk and supper is £25. The first walks on 19 June and 10th July sold out quickly. We return to the Garlic Farm at around 11pm, so do remember to bring a torch for the walk back.
